May 14 , 2007 - my new gig

A long time ago, my site was submitted for review at The Weblog Review. I received a "meh" kind of rating... I feel that the journal here is a touch better than "meh" compared to most of the blogs and journals floating around the ether, but ... whatever.

I had all but forgotten about TWR and my "meh" rating, but someone followed a link to the journal from the old review and I was reminded of the site. I dropped in and had some fun looking around.

I saw that they were seeking reviewers, so I volunteered. I got things off on an excellent foot by calling the lead guy by a totally wrong name ("smooth move, ex-lax!" as my daughter or a 14 year old me would say) and got things all put together and got my first review in. I have to do four reviews a month... which seems reasonable.

Anyway -- I started this entry on Monday night, didn't get far with it... and now I have to get ready for work. I don't WANT to go to work, not because I hate work but because our office is Africa Hot due to a lot of electronics overrunning the strength of our AC system. Yesterday it was 86 degrees in there. This morning it will probably be comfortable but by the afternoon when it heats up I'm putting money on a Return to Africa by 3pm.

I find that when it is cold, I can put on a sweatshirt. When it is hot, I fall asleep. So it is a tad difficult to just sit there and try and get things done while sweating. Someone suggested that I go take a walk to perk up. Genius. Go walk and sweat more and then come back and sit and sweat. Not such a great plan.

So I have a fan to crank up. And hope that it assists in at least moving the air around so I don't feel like a giant blanket of heavy hot air is crushing me from all sides.

Enough whining -- I'm off to the sauna.
